You’re a leisurely traveler. You typically take it easy and discover the energy of a new place by people-watching or soaking in the atmosphere at a local café. You can climb at least one flight of stairs, board a coach, and walk unassisted at a relaxed pace for up to 60 minutes without difficulty. You can easily handle altitudes up to 5,000 feet.
You like a balanced approach to travel. Walking two to three miles over the course of a day is no problem for you. You can partake in a two-hour leisurely walking tour, covering up to two miles (with included breaks). You can handle a variety of terrains, from cobblestone streets to moderate hills with relative ease and without assistance. You can climb two flights of stairs with ease. There may be 1 to 2 days on this tour when walking tours can cover 3 to 4 miles over uneven terrain. You can handle altitudes up to 6,000 feet.
You’re an on-the-go traveler. You don’t want to miss a thing, so walking and standing for longer periods of time (2-3 hours) isn’t a big deal. A moderately paced two-and-a-half-hour walking tour, covering several miles, hills, and uneven surfaces, is no problem for you. Walking four miles over the course of a day is very doable, as is climbing into and out of various modes of transportation (tuk-tuk, cable car, zodiac, etc.). You can climb three flights of stairs easily and handle altitudes between 6,000 and 9,000 feet. Expect some longer days balanced with free time to recharge or set out on your own adventure. This level is not a fit for travelers who require mobility assistance devices.
You’re ready to seize the day, whatever it may bring. You lead an active life at home (walking, biking, and half or full day hikes are things you may enjoy) and 10,000 steps a day is normal for you. You can handle longer walking tours (more than 3 hours covering 3+ miles at a steady clip) and activities that involve traversing uneven terrain, steep slopes, standing for periods of time, and varying altitudes and temperatures. You don’t mind being on the go with some early starts, late-nights, and full days. You can handle altitudes of 9,000 feet or higher with little to no issue. This level is not appropriate for travelers who use wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility assistance devices.

The entire trip was amazing. Our tour guide, Katie, and bus driver, Steve, were excellent - knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating and reliable. Sedona and Yellowstone were my favorite sites, but the best part of the trip were the organization, schedules, 36 fellow travelers and the weather. Well worth every penny we spent and every minute on the tour.

When a stranger wearing only underpants knocked on our door late at night in our Grand Canyon Lodge, seeking help because he had fallen and hurt himself, I didn’t know what to do or how to get help. I called our tour leader, Eileen, who came to our room immediately. She took the situation in hand, contacting security to help the man and telling me to go back to bed and get some rest. Throughout this emergency she was calm and cool, kind and understanding to the man, and all in all just perfect.

Very well laid out tour. Gave us enough time at the major National Parks we visited. We were able to do some short hikes to explore. 2000 miles in a bus seat...beats driving it yourself, and our Driver Dale was outstanding. The proper tour manager .....who would have kept us engaged on the bus....would have made the whole experience 5 star.

Our tour guide and motor coach driver were the best! Everything was well planned and well organized. I am a vegetarian and I was accommodated throughout the tour. Great experience, with many big and small happenings. All special memories. Highly recommend! Keep checking off your bucket list items. A tour is the way to go since the parks are so crowded. We always had parking and our tour guide immersed us in history and fun facts throughout the trip. Time on the bus flew by! Just do it!! Oh, Collette arranged for me to use the airport closest to me. Having a driver to and from the airport was a great way to begin and end a wonderful adventure.

Our tour guide and motor coach driver were the best! Everything was well planned and well organized. I am a vegetarian and I was accommodated throughout the tour. Great experience, with many big and small happenings. All special memories. Highly recommend! Keep checking off your bucket list items. A tour is the way to go since the parks are so crowded. We always had parking and our tour guide immersed us in history and fun facts throughout the trip. Time on the bus flew by! Just do it!! Oh, Collette arranged for me to use the airport closest to me. Having a driver to and from the airport was a great way to begin and end a wonderful adventure.

I loved the trip but due to my age (almost 83) and neurophy in my feet, I struggled to get through the tour. It exhausted me. However, I am so glad I did the trip and thanks to your guide, Cheryl, and a few true gentlemen on the trip, I was able to do most of the trails. I had no idea there was so much unbelievable beauty out west. I recommend it highly. This is my fourth trip with Collette and have been very pleased with each and every one.

Sites and parks visited as indicated fior tour. The change in Altitude for parks will effect your breathing ability. This is an important factor that should be stated in review to prepare visitors. Bryce Canyon was the most impressive park!

Jackson Hole, WY was amazing. Our first visit there & everything about it was very enjoyable. The accommodations at Snow King Resort were excellent as well as the hotel's restaurant. The easy access to the town, shopping, & food. The covered wagon/Chuck Wagon dinner/entertainment was very organized & relaxing. The entertainment was very professional & fun. Rafting & floating on the Snake River were other activities planned for us while there. Jackson Hole was a very memorable part of our tour.

Owning my own travel agency and being a tour guide its often I cannot fully connect to a tour led by another person. This tour far exceeded my expectations. I have completed four tours in the majority of these areas, but I have never saw the West as this tour presented. The guide was truly exceptional, and his caring attitude ensured that we got more than what we paid for on this journey. My favorite experience was on the Riverwalk, I broke away from the group and found myself reflecting of my life. This walk was so calm and relaxing. I was so impressed by the National Parks of American tour that I plan to promote it as future must see destinations for my clients. This one was a vacation that I never knew how much I appreciated or needed in my life.

This was a bucket list trip for me and the trip exceeded my expectations on all levels. Each day was better than the last. Cheryl and Ray were so helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating for all the guests needs. They also helped us meet and mingle with each other to make new friends. I was not as thrilled with the Yellowstone accommodations during their renovations, no AC or TV, good thing it was only 1 night. Overall wonderful trip, as expected from Colette.

Sheryl Wilkin was exceptional. Personable and knowledgable! Hotels for the most part were nice except for Rapid City… old and needed updated. Ken the bus driver was professional and punctual. Welcome dinner was Mexican… not suitable for all. Farewell dinner was just ok… the entertainment by Robert Yellowhorse was great. probably needed a bit more time at the Buffalo Bill museum, etc. There were five museums plus it was our lunch stop So we did not have enough time to see all of the museums. All in all a great trip!

I did not like the fact the some of the accommodations were on the 2nd floor and there were NO elevators. This made if difficult to care our small luggage to our room. A couple of the Hotels which served food, had a very limited staff. We waited two hours to receive our dinners. The problem was they had two tour buses and couldn't handle the people. Greedy owner who didn't care about his Guest or Staff who warned him of the problem.. Will Not use Collette in the future !

A regimented schedule, but the only way to see all that we did. The tour guide, Don, was exceptional. He was well prepared for the tour and provided valuable information along the way. Our bus driver, Clay, was also great. The hoodoos at Bryce Canyon were breathtaking. Also loved seeing the wildlife, especially the bison grazing on the shoulder of the road.

This trip was just one amazing view another. It was organized very well stress free. The accommodations were all nice and in good locations. Getting around towns, when we were not on the motor coach, was very easy and convenient. We really loved this trip and would do it again if there were not so many other places to see!!

Every day was a new experience. Seeing so much beauty in just 12 short days was overwhelming, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat! Todd Asperger made the bus trip a *10*! And our driver Kurt was very professional!

This tour was everything it said it was in that we saw a lot. However, it was really a "drive by" of the Parks. Our tour director, Sheryl, was awesome. She has extensively researched our destinations and routes and shared loads of info and videos. The bus driver was equally great. He was so good navigating the switchbacks of Zion. Bill was very personable and professional and an added component of the trip. He and Sheryl made a good team. Having hip problems I didn't anticipate the pain I would experience sitting on the bus for such long periods of time. Given the large amount of miles traveled, Sheryl, allowed for as many stops as availability and time allowed. It was still painful. I've never taken so many ibuprophen in 12 days. I don't know if this info would have influenced my decision to go on the trip. I do not regret going. We had a wonderful tour. The most memorable experience was the amount of respect everyone showed to each other. No complainers and no one was cronically tardy. We all had fun.

This tour was a most memorable one. The sites that we visited and the beauty of our country is unmatched to anything I’ve ever experienced. The accommodations for the most part were very good. The rooms were clean and most exceeded my expectations. Our tour guide, Bryan Mulvaney was so personable and full of knowledge about every state park and monument that we visited. He even added a personal touch by providing his own videos of the sites we were about to see. What impressed me very much was that he was able to assist me in getting substitutions for some of the meals that I was unable to eat due to food allergies. Bryan’s ability to add humor to the tour group also made for a fun trip. I would definitely recommend this tour and Collette specifically.

Bryce canton was quite the surprise, Old faithful showed up right on time, Zion was stunning and of course the Grand Canyon was grand, Jackson “hole”, the Tetons, Crazy Horse, Mount Rushmore, Glen Canyon, Lake Powell and the Navajo bridge. All offered different experiences and beauty.

I would definitely recommend the Collette tour of the national parks. We would have never been able to visit all the sites on our own. Our driver was excellent, and our tour guide planned everything out perfectly. He also provided a lot of insights that we would otherwise not have known. I would recommend going later than the middle of May, as we did encounter below freezing weather and snow in Wyoming!

Eileen and our driver, Nathan, continually exceeded my expectations! Eileen kept us all on schedule and updated us every evening on the next day's travel and excursions. She is excellent! (I can't imagine what she goes through herding all us cats! LOL) Nathan's driving skills are tremendous and are only exceeded by his personal skills. He too took great pains to make sure that the folks on the tour were comfortable and well hydrated.

It was a balanced trip (rest stops, breaks, travel time) that had us seeing some of our country's most spectacular natural wonders almost daily. During the long drives, the tour manager kept us busy with interesting facts, games, advice, and videos. I can say that our friends and family were not bored with the usual vacation photos, but they readily agree we had a dream trip. Have gotten lots of compliments and inquires as to how they could look into this tour for their future dream vacation. By the way, this is our second Collette trip, and they did not disappoint us with either trip to the USA National Parks and Iceland.

My wife and I had a great overall experience. The tour manager was terrific. He was knowledgeable of everything we saw, he provided great background to all we saw at our destinations and along the way. He provided supplemental videos to improve our knowledge of our destinations. The bus driver was also outstanding. He was also very knowledgeable of the route and destinations. He was safe and courteous. The accommodations were nearly all outstanding as well. The ones that were lacking were probably because they were close to our destinations. I think the tour could benefit by eliminating Denver as a destination and finding another location close to the Rocky Mountains.

Our tour guide Ann Boulais gave an excellent educational overview of each park we visited. The 12 days were packed with so much to see from Sedona Arizona to Mount Rushmore in South Dakota. Touring the 5 National Parks should be on everyone’s bucket list. Awesome scenery, comfortable motor coach, engaging conversations, and learning about our National treasures. Some of the highlights were the Grand Canyon, Old Faithful, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Buffalo Bill Cody Museum, Crazy Horse Monument, and Mount Rushmore.

I loved all the parks we got to experience, but my favorite was at the Grand Canyon. After dinner several of us went and sat outside facing the canyon where there was no lights. For the first time, I got to see the Milky Way in all it’s fullness. We sat and just took in the night sky.

There were problems with limited room in the tour bus sitting area, there were times was one time a meal took place in a grocery store, and a few tour stops only had drop style toilets, but overall the experience was good. Beautiful scenery.

The sights were beautiful, but my favorite sight, Bryce Canyon, we were only given about 30 minutes to view this magnificent canyon. This was very disappointing. The balance of timing per event needs to be recalibrated. The seating in the bus was uncomfortable. My husband and I are not big people and we both felt crowded (no knee room and narrow seats). These are the main reasons I gave it a four.

Poor choices at Mexican restaurant. Didn't enjoy stagecoach dinner and shoe, showers had no bars for safety, need better alternatives for free time. Add on to Colorado not worth it, one whole day of nothing but riding on bus.

The tour needed a more structured rotation for getting on and off the bus, which became very difficult for people in the back of the bus. Improvements in the bus like cup holders and tray tables plus more legroom in some of the seats were needed for such a long tour. Written slips with the AM timing and destination for the next day should have been used. Bus driver was excellent!

Six of us got covid. This could have been avoided if everyone wore masks but out of 55 people, only four wore masks. Also, it would be great if the water bottles were recycled. If that can't happen, then we do not need water bottles. Everyone was told to bring their own reusable one anyway. Please inforce your own suggestions. Thank you!!

Merrin was a great tour director and we saw just unbelievable sites. It was so educational and we learned so much about the native americans. Our favorite National Park was Zion and we were pleased we were there for two nights. The buffalo in Yellowstone came right up to our hotel window! Beautiful waterfall in Yellowstone along with Old Faithful! Nice people on the tour as well.

The trip was well thought out, but the food was very close to horrible. The bus was not adequate for a long tour as the climate control was spotty at best and the Wi-Fi worked occasionally and cup holders were not to be had. Our bus driver, Richard, was very professional and of good spirit considering the problems he had to constantly try to fix with the bus.

Everything was taken care of, our tour manager was excellent, always on top of things. It was nice not having to check in and out of hotels our manager did it for us. Even though we were not able to make it to Yellowstone because of the flood they experienced our tour manager, Kim, worked hard to fill the gap with other sites to visit.

There was just not enough room between the seats on the bus.

The service was good, our guide was great. There was just not enough room between the seats on the bus for as long as the trip was. We expected a little bit more room to be able to move around comfortably. We felt like since we were on the bus so many days, and so long that the bus would’ve been a bit more spacious. Since it was a tour bus we just expected it not to be crammed packed with seats allowing more legroom.

We enjoyed all the parks, my favorite part was the scenic route down the snake River on the raft. Our little guard was very informative and a delight as he gave us the details. It was a great disappointment that we did not get to go to Yellowstone park, but we know that could not be helped. We do appreciate the fact that Ann our guide was able to find us alternative parts to go to.

The tour itinerary, tour guide and driver were excellent. The coach, although new, was another story. The electrical plugs did not work most of the time and the Wi-Fi was the same. There was only the front door for entry and exit which significantly slowed down the loading and unloading of the coach.

Our Guide was very knowledgeable. Our driver was courteous, and kept our coach extremely clean. The only complaint I have was the return flights were not a convenient time. We booked our vacation a year in advance and we should have had better flight schedules.

I thought the tour was well put together and we saw all planned tour sites plus some . But the one and only Major fault in the tour was the tour bus itself. This bus may be acceptable for a day or overnight tour but NOT for a 10 day tour. It was very tight seating, air control was far less than acceptable. It lacked working electrical outlets by all seating. In general extremely disappointing traveling mode. But must say all lodging and food planned establishments were very good to excellent accommodations.

We visited more sites than we would ever have done on our own!

The accommodations were great and allowed for easy access into the parks and surrounding towns. Our tour guide provided so much additional information beyond the sites themselves. We had an opportunity to see many of the National Parks. I didn’t realize that we would travel over 2,000 miles on the bus. Out tour guide tried to make us as comfortable as possible with rest stops. If we were younger we would consider going back to some of the Parks but we are in no shape to hike. Also learned much about Native American history.

My husband and I experienced out 1st Collette tour to the national parks this past October. From the first contact via email to Collette to begin planning our trip to the last day of our trip they and their representatives, travel agent, tour manager, bus driver, all professional , attentive, and friendly. They all treated us like we were their only customer.

This tour covers a lot of ground 2081 miles to be exact! when you hear 5 national parks in 12 days - Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, 5 states, how could you pick out a favorite? We had not been to this part of our beautiful county and at every turn, each day we thought how could this get ant better - but it did. Going in October was a risk (Yellowstone was closed couple of days before we got there because of snow) but this time of year was beautiful, Arizona a beautiful 80 degrees, golden Aspens, snow on the mountains, snap in the air with blue skies, magnificent sun sets (Grand Canon North Rim) and the stars in the evenings. We saw so much wild life, seemed every morning we started off seeing something unusual, Condors, eagle, bison, elk, moose just to name a couple.

The changing seat policy of everybody moving three seats always is disrupted by someone who says they have motion sickness and needs to constantly sit in front. The farewell dinner which should have been the best was by far the worst dinner we had with a glass of cheap wine. This alone my make me question future tours

Our tour guide, Phyl, was very knowledgeable about the area we were visiting, and she kept us informed/entertained by giving us facts about the areas we were in. She hiked with us, which we appreciated. Hard to narrow down my favorite memorable experience, but I really loved being at the Grand Canyon and staying in the cabins. Yellowstone was awesome, and we enjoyed staying in their beautiful lodge.

the only hotel we had a problem with was in Sheridan. Our room happened to have a leaky shower and possible mold. (There was a panel in the wall that fell and revealed the shower pipes leaking. the area was discolored and was possibly mold.)

Everything was very well planned. I appreciated the luggage being taken care of at each stop. We got to see many wonderful places. The pace was a little intense and I was dismayed that many places had no accommodation for people with handicaps (for example to get from the rooms to the food sites that required a long walk).

This trip was phenomenal. Hayden, our trip manager, was outstanding and made the trip extraordinary. She knew the history, geography and geology and enjoyed sharing this with us. She loves her job and it showed. She also took the hikers on the trip on some hikes. Additionally, the natural beauty we saw was amazing!!! We saw and did soooooo much. We recommend this Collette trip to anyone considering doing a trip to the national parks.

Everything was Great, Our guide Brian was Super, Knowledgeable and Friendly. He handled any problems that arose instantly and satisfactory to everyone. Giving credit to Collette for being so quick in wanting to please their travelers. There was only one hotel we didn't care for the High rise and their service was poor RL in Salt lake. We would definitely book another trip with Collette in the future as long as we could afford to do so. Mark our Bus Driver was also a Great Asset to the trip, Excellent driver, Great personality and knew how to handle that bus.

When a problem arose he took care of it through the home office, that replied instantly and He kept us busy with info and games on the tour bus. The accomodation at the Grand Canyon was unacceptable though, and to gain the best from the stop at the Oregan Trail visitor centre more time was required. The coach was comfortable except for the two front seats.

The trip was very good but some of the places - Lake Powell, Yellowstone - didn’t have enough places for us to eat dinner. We had a long wait period at both places. We understand we weren’t the only guests but with a bus load of people dinner reservations should have been made. The dinner in Rapid City (our last night) was not very good. Our other meals were very good or excellent. Overall we did enjoy our trip and definitely will travel with Collette again and will also recommend you to our friends and family.

One of the highlights (in addition to all the beautiful mountains and all the other wonderful scenery) was Sault Lake City where we ate in a wonderful building, AND an unexpected highlight was getting to see/hear the Mormon Choir practice in the evening, and the organ recital/practice the next day.

When friends and family ask me how the trip was, I said a "fifteen". Overall, the bus driver was outstanding and the occasional tour person who told us about specific sites, such as "Crazy Horse" was terrific. I didn't like the fact that they passed a hat around the bus to tip the person. It should have been included with the price we paid for the tour.

The only thing that would have improved it would have been to have had an e-mail contact in London for those queries that weren't really urgent enough to warrant a phone call. We had to find it from the website.

There was somebody at the airport to get my bag and take me to the hotel. I was easily taken to airport the day of departure. There was no waiting or worry. All parts of the trip were great. I enjoyed the experience and being with my granddaughter. The tour manager was always aware and on top of things each day. There were some hotels that I liked better than others but all were fine.

Grand Canyon in the early morning hours watching the sunrise over the canyon was spectacular! Wouldn't have been possible had we not stayed in the rustic log cabins. Would have preferred an additional day at the Grand Cayons to perhaps take an optional mule ride or just sit and stare out into it's beauty and one day less in Salt Lake City.

A world class organization. Have had great luck with guides and drivers on many trips. On National Parks trip, hotel bathroom accommodations should have been better. Our travelling group seemed to be all senior citizens, though not advertised that way. Regardless, a majority of us, short and tall, thought the hotel toilet bowls were too low for comfortable and safe usage. Sorry to be so graphic. Collette needs to review their hotel selections and their bathroom accommodations. Some of their hotel choices are quite outdated.

That trip ended in Rapid City. This would have been much better. I felt that a day was wasted driving to Denver for such a short time in Rocky Mountain Park.

On a positive note, our bus driver was the BEST. Regarding phone calls that were made to Collette prior to the trip, the service could have been better. I waited a number of days before I received confirmation that my flight had been changed as I requested. I that our tour guide could have been more willing to help people with answers to questions and perhaps offer to do some research if she didn't know the answer. She seemed more interested in a "smooth" travel experience but sometimes, there are bumps along the way.

My reason for 2 stars is one reason only - COST. The cost of the tour was over $7,000. I understand I needed to pay the single fare but $1,500 for that was ridiculous and if I had stayed in a room with someone, that meant the cost would have been over $5,500. That is EXTREME, especially when I just found out about a trip with Trafalgar going to basically the exact same places and the cost for that trip for double occupancy is under $2,800 per person (this trip is being offered in 2019 right through the community travel agent where I live). On a positive note, I LOVED the trip itself. I loved seeing all the National Parks as well as other side trips. It was one of the best trips of my life but I am sure I could have had this same feeling with another tour company at a much lower cost.

Spectacular Canyons, Amazing Sites, Excellent, Fun Nat'l Park's Tour

Our amazing Nat'l Parks tour was our 3rd Collette tour, and as expected we had an excellent tour mgr and guide. Haydee's super organizing skills and enthusiasm got us up about 5am each morning to be ready for another day of touring. Her frequent reminders to hydrate often was spot-on for the 1st part of the tour in VERY dry summer heat especially in AZ & UT, and in the higher altitudes and dry air as we traveled through astounding canyons, the Grand Tetons, Wyoming, Black Hills and SD. Even in some remote areas, we had necessary relief stops to break up a few longer drives, and the planned tour stops were wonderful. We could not stay on the bus at most stops, but we were never forced to do more than we each could handle at stops, where we could easily view scenes or take a certain amount of time for a short hike. Our coach driver, Darrel, was professional, courteous & helpful...an excellent driver on some challenging roads that wound around & up and down in changing terrain. Our hotels were always comfortable, even though about 3 were rustic due to tour location. Even with no A/C at Grand Canyon, the cabins ON the wooded, more quiet North Rim met our needs and offered views & walking trails not everybody sees. We enjoyed extending a day at the Alex Johnson Hotel in Rapid City SD, where we took in the July 4th fireworks on the horizon and city, all visible from the hotel rooftop restaurant & patio. A wonderful trip!

Spectacular Zion and Bryce Canyons, Grand Canyon, Grand Tetons, Black Hills, vistas as we drove. The 2 canyons, Zion and Bryce were probably the most surprising treat we experienced, though it was extremely hot and dry, those canyons were amazing. The Grand Tetons and also the drive from Cody WY to Rapid City, SD was my 1st time to see that beautiful area.

The bus travel included well-timed stops about every two hours, which contributed to everyone's comfort. The bus driver was very thoughtful and as well as exceptionally skilled. Hotels were very good. And perhaps the best for last, the trip manager, Haydee Schabelski, was truly exceptional!! Her knowledge of the parks and the terrine was informative and contributed greatly to the total experience. Haydee is an outstanding representative of Collette!!

The bus trip was our first and we were delighted with it. Everything was very well organized and our tour guide was very knowledgeable. She moved people around the bus in assigned seats so that we met everyone on our tour and also had an opportunity to view the scenery from various vantage points - great idea. The bus driver did a super job even on very difficult roads. There was a nice balance of driving and stops. We covered a lot of territory to see the national parks and it was spaced out very well. The hotels were uniformly good and the speed and efficiency of getting us to the rooms and getting our baggage to us was incredible. We would never have been able to see so many national parks without being on this kind of tour. One suggestion - give everyone a refillable water bottle instead of having everyone purchase water bottles each day. This would have saved over 400 plastic water bottles from the trash and there were easy places to refill them everywhere.

The most amazing natural views of America - sitting on a deck and watching the sunset in the Grand Canyon, the beauty of Sedona, Bryce, Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons. A lot of riding on the bus but it is worth it to see all the beauty there is to see and watching the landscape pass from your seat on the bus. Bison, osprey, elk, mountain goats, eagles, cattle, horses, so much to see. If you are lucky you get Ted as a bus driver, the best, and Nicki was fabulous!

It is really hard to pick out any one experience. We went to see national parks, and we certainly did that, starting with the Grand Canyon which I thought would be my favorite. Then we got to each of the others and, of course, I thought they were a favorite. In other words, they were all my favorites, each was so different. But the most amazing part of this trip was the scenery and the other people on this trip. Alice was wonderful in giving out the history of each area. I could go on and on, but this was the most wonderful, fun and memorable experience of a lifetime.

I was impressed by the immense open spaces in our Country - from the plains areas to the majestic mountains of all the Parks. Salt Lake City is beautiful - Jackson Hole Wyoming (with snow!) was fun. Mount Rushmore and the in-process Crazy Horse memorial is amazing. We viewed cowboys herding cattle and enormous buffalo.

The transfers from hotel to hotel went smoothly. Our guide set up our seats on the bus in a creative and respectful way, allowing us to make many new friends. The friendships were the highlight of the trip...we laughed together at the many foibles of scheduling (including having to use the drop toilet --one at a time--because the park office was closed at Jackson Hole). It was VERY disappointing to arrive at the North Rim Grand Canyon Lodge in the dark (just after sunset). We had to find our rooms in the dark, then had nothing to do until sunrise. We had only a few hours of daylight to actually see the Canyon. This was to be one of the highlights of our trip, but ended up being a huge disappointment. It seems like this scheduling continued to be disappointing throughout. In Jackson Hole, we had the most time, but there were no activities open at the lodge. Why weren't we told that the dates of this trip were at the end of the season and many activities were no longer available (including getting our park passports stamped because the park offices were closed)?

Scheduling gave us the most time in the hotels (sleeping) or on the bus getting to our next venue. Many of the activities at each park were shut down at this time of year. The most memorable part of the trip was the Crazy Horse Memorial because of the history and dedication of the Korczak family.

The price of the trip was reasonable and the itinerary was just what I wanted to experience. Our tour manager, Kim Foy was exceptional! She is professional, friendly, fun, and so competent, keeping us on schedule; she handled a problem at the beginning of the trip with calmness and composure, solving the problem, so we could keep to our itinerary with only a slight delay. Kim is a Jewel!!!

I have severe allergies and it made the tour unpleasant for several days. I asked the guide if we had air in all the rest of the hotel and was told yes,this was untrue as again we spent a night without and I suffered again for several days.

Tour was fabulous. The parks and the sights we saw were beautiful. I would recommend dropping out Crazy Horse and A shorter stay in Salt Lake City since neither are National Parks. It would have been great to have added Devils Tower and the Badlands since thy were so close.

Good, reliable coach and driver. This was especially important when our weather ranged from 107 to snow and heavy fog in the mountains. Good travel manager. *Personal information removed by Feefo* taught us lots and used multiple methods - speaking, visuals, DVD player. Good alternate accommodations for the lodges advertised. Still disappointed that with a National Parks Tour, more so than with other tour, we were expecting a heavier 'lodge' experience. Good opportunity to experience lodging IN the National Parks at two locations. Could have stayed in the little cabin at Grand Canyon for a week. Especially good food at Lake Powell and Grand Canyon. Good highlights of some beautiful country. Yes, we have already recommended Collette to many friends and family.

I loved the north rim of the Grand Canyon experience. The little log cabins were special. I wouldn't want to stay there for 12 days, but that experience enhanced the trip with its rustic appeal and the marauding squirrels that tried to get in. Dining room is wonderful and you can't beat the views.

I would have given a better rating if time had been managed more efficiently. There was limited time at Yellowstone but we had 2 days in Salt Lake City.. this was suppose to be a National Parks trip. We barely had our feet on the ground at Yellowstone. Most of the time was touring on the bus- very disappointing. Also, we were given a prolonged lunch stop before Jackson Hole and then got into town to find we had only a short time to look around before we boarded the bus for the ride to the hotel. Why didn't we get to town earlier and reduce the prolonged lunch break?

Unlike the tour guide friends had last year on this same itinerary, our tour guide informed us of short hikes(walks) at the parks that we could do within the time frame of each visit and even guided us on some of them. As stated above, this trip provided us with sights we had only seen on TV - Bryce Canyon was the best for us. Some moments were even better than postcard views. The narratives by Karen & Roger made it even better-they love their jobs and it shows in the tours and care provided to all of us. BTW: we had a remarkable group on our bus that all got along extremely well. The 1st day of 2 of them being late-marked the trip and DID not occur again as the other guests cheerfully chided them... We were truly blessed with a great group we toured with. Yellowstone was Unbelievable and tour guide that joined us knew HIS STUFF!!! It made the trip even better.

I loved our tour guide Denise and the driver. The other tour people were very nice. The actual trip was pleasant but I felt there was much to much time on the bus. The breaks were rushed only 15 or 20 min then back on the bus for another 2 or 3 hours then an hour for lunch and shopping. The distance covered was too far. My daughter was in a wheelchair. Every part of the tour was accessible but time was an issue for me. Bags having to be out at 6:30 a.m. Then on the bus by 7:35 then Only getting to the hotel and having 30 min to get to dinner, toooo rushed for me. I needed a vacation after this vacation. I was very disappointed in the Grand Canyon and the lodging there. I had issues with the Raddison in Salt Lake City also. I did have a special situation with my daughter but I did hear time on bus and being rushed issues from others.

The itinerary was the closest available in the UK to our objectives, although ideally we would have liked more 2 night stays and the opportunity for a sightseeing flight at the Grand Canyon. Tour was generally good and well managed. However we do have a grievance with Collette about their delay in refunding the cost of a prepaid excursion which was cancelled by the operator due to bad weather. This incompetence may stop us travelling with Collette again.

Hiking to Bright Angel Point and finding out height affects me. In spite of this made it out and got to enjoy a very special view. The Grand Canyon was Majestic. Zion and Bruce were just beautiful. We hiked some of Zion as well as Bruce. Bottom line it is difficult to pick one or the other. Then the fun and a good meal on the Cowboy wagon train dinner. Although quite cool the simple food was hot, tasty and plenty. Angel Point was thrilling because of my phobia, but the whole trip was memorable. The hotel in Salt Lake City gave us a miserable one star hotel experience when we complained the A/C was not working in our room. We went from a plush four star room to one with furniture that had drawers that would not shut, wrinkled, nasty rugs, doors with wood peeling and cracking at the bottom and a "plastic" type sink top. It did have running water and A/C. That's the best I can say about it. Otherwise, accommodations were good, if not downright rustic.

The reason I put good instead of excellent for motels is due to the fact that we were always overlooking the parking lot. I would have thought we could see more in the parks from our rooms. I was disappointed by that. I also would have liked 1more day in Yellowstone to go up to the north loop. Denise Henley was the best tour guide I have ever had. I would love to know what other tours she would be on.

It was well organized by our awesome team of Derek Moscarelli and Lance Richardson. They took us from park to park efficiently, well versed, very knowledgable, and it was a wonderful two weeks. We have never taken a vacation where my husband and I were so relaxed because we knew every detail was taken of. The awesome beauty of the national parks was breathtaking. Our tour leader, Brian, and bus driver, George, were best I've had in taking about a half dozen tours. They were both so knowledgeable, considerate, and helpful. My only recommended change would be to allow for more non-included meals, as many of the restaurants were not particularly appealing in their food offerings.

The best way to see the National Parks is a guided tour with Collette. Staying inside the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone Parks, seeing Bryce Canyon and Zion was breath taking. Had a great time at the Bar J Ranch for our chuck wagon cookout and show after we ate dinner. We were able to see the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra perform. Also found a great Italian restaurant in Salt Lake City called Valter's Osteria. Pictures alone can't describe the scenery you see along the way, you have to see it for yourself..

All the advanced planning seemed to have been done. The Tour Manager and bus driver worked well together and there never seemed to be any question of our schedule. I would definitely recommend Collette to my family and friends. A little better "heads up" on which meals were covered and which we were responsible for.

We have traveled exclusively with Collette at least ten times. We would be hard pressed to single out any one trip as our favorite. This tour is right at the top with the others. Upon our first day arrival at Marriott in Scottsdale, we had a surprise visit by our daughter who drove 6 hours from Los Angeles - she planned to stay until the next morning. Our tour manager made every effort to ensure we would be able to spend quality time with her before we went our separate ways - extremely grateful. Forty-four of us traveled together and the entire group was wonderful and respectful of everyone’s time as we stopped often for either a picture or rest break or one of the many great venues Collette planned for us. The discussion centered around not only the wonderful itinerary but also most often about how lucky we were to have a great tour manager and superior bus driver. The breakfast and dinner meals, the hotels, the rest stops were wonderful (have to get back for that pie stop). During the trip it seems we couldn’t find enough positive descriptive adjectives – wonderful, awesome, beautiful, incredible, inspiring – and more. The parks and canyons left us speechless. We saw so much wildlife and the sun was out for us everyday with one exception but we were travelling that day so it didn’t count. Our bus driver knew his job well – taking care of the luggage, keeping the coach clean every opportunity he had, very conscientious about his passengers and full of information. He was viewed by all not as our driver but as part of our travelling family. And, our tour manager, absolutely a keeper and we all hope we have an opportunity to travel with him again. In fact, we did have the pleasure in 2010 on a Collette Trains and Canyons tour. He didn’t miss a beat – all the details, all the information about the areas we travelled through, the places we visited. Although there was a good deal of travelling time on the bus, he kept us busy – with DVDs (loved the mule ride at Grand Canyon), trivia tests, singing (we kind of took over), repeating details (at our age retaining details tends to slip a little), taking great care of a medical emergency (one of the reasons we travel with Collette is there have been one or two on our tours which were handled so well that we have no worries when travelling with Collette - a very important aspect is purchasing travel insurance) – he displayed professionalism as well as his humanity. He also kept us laughing and happy throughout the trip. We don’t know if we will have the good fortune to travel with the same tour manager again but we have to say that for all the tours (10) we've had with Collette we have been placed in the best of hands regarding tour managers. We are always out there promoting travel with Collette and the fact that we've travelled with them exclusively is surely a sign to everyone what a positive experience it is all around. We know how important the internet has become as a forum to market – unfortunately I don’t do Facebook or Tweet (still haven’t stepped out of the cave) otherwise I would be happy to put all of this out there. Looking forward to travelling with Collette again.

There is no way to choose a 'favorite memorable experience' when you are traveling in our beautiful country. This entire trip and all others we've taken have been memorable - we continue to talk with others about our wonderful times. But below are some of the many good times we had during this particular tour: We participated in the Wildlife Scenic Float and the Salt Lake City Temple Square Tour – both exceptional. We loved the cowboy chuck wagon experience – several of our tour members had starring roles – it was great fun. The step on guides for both Salt Lake City and Yellowstone were fantastic. Old Faithful, Buffalo Bill Center of the West, Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse Memorial – full of informative and colorful displays and inspiration.

Virtually flawless. Only disappointment was a changed itinerary that substituted the south rim for the originally advertised north rim of the Grand Canyon. Why the change? No reason given when I asked the customer service rep prior to the tour.

The tour, from airport limousine service to state-of-the-art tour coach transportation, made for a dream vacation. The tour manager was superb. Yes, I mean superb. The coach driver was outstanding in his operation and maintenance of a spotless vehicle. The itinerary was excellent and the tedium of the few long travel periods was mitigated by the good humor and well-prepared activities offered by the tour manager.

We had a great adventure with Collette tours. Collette has very helpful in making our plans.Our plans were made by Collette for our tour start to finish. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and our bus drive very expert. The limousine services that picked us up and dropped us off at the airports was wonderful. We would have liked a direct flight. We had some issues coming home from Denver and trying to connect in Chicago! The hotel accommodations were mostly excellent. The food was good. We did have an issue with our breakfast in the Grand Canyon. When we went to get breakfast with a voucher the establishment had no clue that we should have one. We had to pay for our own breakfast and the food was awful. We are still waiting for our refund on the breakfast. Most of the food that was on our plan was very good. We went to an Italian restaurant our last night in Denver that was wonderful that restaurant should be kept on the tour. The hotel in Denver was excellent! Also,we went on the extra two days to the Rocky Mountain Parks. Which was an addition to the trip. We would suggest this highly once you are in the west you want to see as much as you can! I think when making the plans for this trip these last two day should not be an option some of the people on our trip did not realize they had to sign up for this addition.

Perhaps it would have been better to have meals in nearby restaurants instead of the venues where we were staying. Tour should have been a couple of days longer so more time could be spent in the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone. Salt Lake City could be eliminated or if necessary, reduced to one day.

Found the Hoodoos amazing .Also the Cody Museum and Mount Rushmore were really amazing. Needed more time in Scottsdale, Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon. Don't know if there was anything to see in Rapid City, since we arrived too late in the day. Overall the itinerary was excellent. Although the group was rather large, it worked well. Everyone was delightful and all added to the enjoyment of the trip.

The National Parks tour was a great way to see some beautiful parts of America for the first time. From Sedona, Arizona to Rapid City, South Dakota (Mt. Rushmore). I saw places I'd never thought I'd see. Bryce Canyon, Utah was an amazing sight to see, with it's red rock formations. But just about every stop was interesting and enjoyable. Even little Cody, Wyoming had a great museum about Buffalo Bill and Indians. I really enjoyed Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The visit there was made even better by our stay in a first class resort-style hotel at The Lodge at Jackson Hole. The evening was fun with a covered wagon trip, complete with Indian ambush, to a cowboy dinner in the park. Great way to sightsee. Great way to see an amazing part of America.

Fantastic tour. Only 2 suggestions: 1. A few more hours at the Old Faithful Geyser and less time at Cody Cultural Center (kinda a snore after a half hour), and 2. In Jackson Hole, offer Wildlife Safari as an optional excursion. I did this on my own and it was awesome. Guides are biologists and know their stuff. And were able to take a small group (3 of us) into the back unpaved roads to see the wildlife. Well worth the money.
